An invite from Niraj…

This year I’m delighted to welcome dear old friend and peer Ruth Strupinski, Co-director of the London School of Biodanza and ‘keeper of the flame’ for Biodanza in the capital for so many years back to the teaching team! ☺️ It will be a poignant moment, as she only ever taught here with beloved colleague Pip Kennan, whom we so sadly lost last year. 😓

Also returning (from 2022) is Yamil Yasa (Uruguay), a fellow globe-trotting ambassador for Biodanza and beautiful, genuine, sweet, masculine soul.

Very regular contributors to festivities over the years and also dear and respected friends, Richard Golsworthy (Scot) and the inimitable, irrepressible Milarepa (Dorset!) will be back too sharing their expertise, creativity and fun, (above all fun), with us all!

(Two more teachers to be confirmed in the coming weeks)

You can expect all the usual goodies this longstanding event supplies, delicious food, fresh air, stunning grounds, a phone-free environment for 3 days (a what??? 🤔), a hugely convivial atmosphere, dance, celebration, Improv comedy, bonfire, sauna, friendship, togetherness, belonging, intimacy, expansion, camaraderie, pleasure, happiness, the bar, Coffee Shop and a right old knees up on the last night!

Go on…you know you want to! Book now to ensure your place (particularly if you want indoor accommodation) and see you on the dancefloor!

Niraj Skilbeck (host)
Niraj leads the Dorset School of Biodanza and is skilled at opening people to many aspects of Tantra such as sensitivity, sensuality, touch, affection and transcendence. Using the medium of Biodanza, a series of dance, movements and exercises that create space for a deep experience within oneself and with others. Each workshop is led as a vivencia, a space in which words are dropped and the deep wisdom of the body is entered.
Niraj has been into Biodanza since 1997, leads the teacher training program, and is also trained in the Osho Humaniversity training. He also has specialisation certificates to teach Biodanza and the Four Elements, Biodanza in Nature, Biodanza and Shamanism, AquaBiodanza, Biodanza for Children, Biodanza and Massage, Contact Education, The Heart of Transformation, the Minotaur Project and the Argonaut Mission. He has been involved in teaching Biodanza in 20+ countries.

He trained as a Bachelor of Sociology at the University of the Republic, a Recreation Technician at the Catholic University and also a Biodaza Facilitator/Teacher. He was invited as a teacher at the Faculty of Psychology of the public University for five years, to facilitate Biodanza courses of his authorship. He also facilitates regular Biodanza groups and has lived in Recife Brazil for a year to work and participate in Biodanza. He also loves facilitating Biodanza intensives with friends from various countries in America and Europe as a source of constant learning.

My passion is Biodanza. I’m just back from Poland where I was introducing Biodanza to a group of people, some of whom had experienced Biodanza before and some who were new to it. I find it very rewarding to be setting people off on the process of self rediscovery through the tried and tested system of Biodanza.
I have been running a weekly class of Biodanza in Richmond successfully for over 20 years I am also a co-director of the London School of Biodanza and in October we are excited to be embarking on our 5th 3 year cycle of the facilitator training.
My specialisations are:- Children’s Biodanza; The Minotaur Project; Biodanza Voice Music & Percussion; The Tree of Desires; Identity and The 4 Elements.

I’m a Didactic Biodanza Facilitator based near Glasgow. My Biodanza journey started in 1998, leading to many years of learning and teaching Biodanza in the UK and abroad. I also practice as a Registered Counselling Psychologist, providing psychological therapy and leading a counselling psychology training programme at Glasgow Caledonian University. (I make sure to include some movement and vivencial-based learning for my students!) In a world where identity differences often take the focus, I love the simple human heart of Biodanza, connecting us through shared feeling and needs.

After a tumultuous first Biodanza experience on the dancefloor in Zorba, I went on to train in the first cycle of the Dorset School of Biodanza. Since then I have been running a Monday night Biodanza class in Hampshire/Dorset which is now in its 13th year. Alongside this, I’ve been bringing Biodanza to a growing number of care homes in the area, specialising in working with people living with dementia. Perhaps my favourite setting for teaching though is at festivals and the International Festival of Biodanza has to be the pinnacle of that experience. I’m so looking forward to being back in that magical space. It’s always such a heart-full crowd and it always reaffirms my faith in the power of music, dance and human connection to make a positive change in the world.

I am very excited to be part of this festival since it was Niraj who has opened the gate for Biodanza in my life – I did my very first vivencia with him in 2017 in India!! In the meantime I have moved from Vienna to London to Buenos Aires, originally for Tango Argentino, but then I fell in love with Biodanza too. I had the great honor to be taught by Veronica Toro (eldest daughter of Rolando) and Raul Terren and the pleasure to be in their weekly group. I facilitate in Buenos Aires and go on tour once a year – just now I gave a vivencia at the Biodanza world congress in Venice and have given several workshops all over Europe. In 2022 I gave a TEDx talk in Patagonia about the power of Biodanza. My special passion is “Biotango” – the beautiful fusion of Biodanza and Tango. Besides that I am also facilitating workshops about conscious sexuality and teaching at various Tantra festivals!
