Invocation Festival
Movement – Sound – Voice

Thursday July 9th – Sunday July 12th 2026

Invocation is a festival to nourish you through exploration of movement, dance, sound, voice, and embodiment.

Our unique voice and dance is a gift to be explored and shared, when we come together to dance and sing, community arises.

Pick and choose from the beautiful offerings from a wide range of facilitators to explore your dance and voice. Lose yourself in music, movement, sound and sensation.

Find yourself in the groundedness of your feet.

In this age of technology, digital stimulation, fast pace information and disconnection with nature, our nature – let’s come together and be present to the gift of these moments of creation, sharing all it is to be human through these rich modes of exploration.

This is an alcohol and drug free festival. We can get high on being alive right now, honouring all our emotions, similarities and differences through movement, sound and song.

The programme begins at 4pm, but if you cannot make it for then, do try to be here for our Opening Ceremony led by Christina Kane at 8pm Thursday.

The Benefits of Spending 4 days Together in this Intimate Festival

Singing and dancing for body, mind and soul.

The many benefits of Singing include:
Relieving stress and tension; boosting confidence; improving breathing; participating in a mindful activity; and so much more.

Dancing has some crossover benefits, it also:
Improves balance and coordination; enhances social connections; increase levels of the feel-good hormone serotonin; builds stronger bones and muscles, and so much more….look it up and you’ll see lots of supportive research.

What often isn’t mentioned though, is how deeply both dancing and singing connect you to your essence self, and open gateways to soul expression and connection.

Since time immemorial people have dance and sung, as Beethoven knew “Music has the power to revolutionise our world”.

As we journey together through movement and voice – the naturalness of expression, uniqueness of each other, and sense of community, are gifts bestowed on us all – deepening day by day – as Aristotle said “the whole is greater than the sum of the parts”.

Our Unique Voice And Dance Is A Gift To Be Explored

Meet your Facilitators

Jewell Hope Brightwell
Jewell Hope BrightwellCo-Leader | Dance Connection
Jewell loves music, movement, sound, and voice which is why she came up with the idea of the Invocation festival in August 2024, she wasn’t aware of any festival dedicated to this combination. Creative Director of Dance Connection, Jewell’s mission is to get as many people moving together as possible – she sees that movement when carefully coupled with music gives a broad human experience : “we can let our body dance us, explore unfamiliar movement, be the music, express our emotions, accept and inspire each other with no judgment, and connect without words, beyond personality – it feels almost miraculous at times.”

A Dance Connection pathway created to land in your body and relax before bed. In this pathway we will mainly be exploring solo dances and movement, so that you can deeply connect to your own body’s messages and needs, music is carefully selected to support the invitations. Unlike typical Dance Connection pathways, you will only be gently reactivated after the deceleration &  stillness sections of the pathway – so that you stay relaxed for bed/sleep. Bring mat, blanket, bottled water, wear layered clothing.

  • This Dance Connection pathway will explore our animal bodies, instincts, naturalness; alongside transcendent and reverent dances – maybe we will find a way to marry the two and experience the divine human animal we are? Dance Connection is geared for connection with your self, and others – this pathway will include solo, pair, small group, and whole group movement explorations. Wear layered clothing, bring bottled water, optional blanket.

The Singing Body is an immersive exploration of your true voice, weaving together chant, mantra, movement, breath work, and free vocal expression to help you inhabit your voice more fully and freely. Through gentle, embodied practices, participants learn to release tension, soften into presence, and reconnect with the essence that lives beneath habitual patterns and holding. This workshop opens both the physical and inner voice, inviting a sense of spaciousness, authenticity, and ease in expression. The practices are meditative, grounding, and transformative—simple tools you can continue to build into daily life to deepen your connection to yourself, your body, and your unique sound.

The Sacred Octave is a deep-dive workshop into the Swaras of the Indian Scale—a powerful vocal map that guides you through the body’s energy centres and opens a pathway to expressive, embodied sound. Through learning the unique tones of this scale and exploring how they weave together, you’ll discover a new way of working with your voice that brings balance to your whole system, releases tension, and invites deeper breath and presence. We may also explore a simple raga to experience how particular combinations of notes evoke specific emotional qualities, using it as a framework to expand resonance, range, and inner awareness. This work supports you in drawing out your inner voice and marrying it with outward expression, helping you relax, open your heart, connect more authentically with yourself, and experience the liberating, healing potential of your own sound.

Together, we will call in the Archetypal energies of the Serpent, Jaguar, Hummingbird and Condor, the Ancestors and the Elements in a powerful remembrance of these forces within us.

We will drink the nectar of Hummingbird Medicine, honouring Joy, Lightness, and the ability to find sweetness even in challenging times.

We will give gratitude to the Earth, one another & the Q’ero peoples of Peru by creating a Despacho, as at this time in history the Andean Shamans have asked that their Medicine be shared in the West to fulfil the prophecy of the Eagle and the Condor—a time when the Eagle of the North and the Condor of the South fly together, symbolising the harmonious integration of cultures and the emergence of a new level of human consciousness. Let Hummingbird guide us away from our old stories to the Magic & Miracles already here Now.

Christina will close the Directions with Gratitude to the energies that have held us throughout the Festival in a collaboration with the other Leaders who will share Song (Gavin) etc

Francis Michael Eliot
Francis Michael Eliot5Rhythms
I’m an open-hearted wounded healer who’s been around the block enough times to know that true spirituality can be gritty and raw. I therefore teach with a deep respect for discernment and boundaries, honouring the fact that people need to feel safe to feel free. I was trained by my beloved teacher, friend and ‘Spirit Mama’ Gabrielle Roth back in 2004 and she still has my back every time I teach. With the help of fluid guidance and cutting-edge music choices arising out of the moment, my sessions are a group journey into the heart of embodied ecstasy.

5Rhythms Workshop — Move Into Connection

5Rhythms is a dynamic movement practice that invites you to move with your breath, listen to your body, and let yourself be danced. Through guided movement, you explore what happens when you soften self-imposed limitations and step out of isolation into embodied presence.

This is not about how you look, but about discovering who is really dancing.

What you’ll gain

  • Deepened connection: to your body, to others, and to the larger field of movement

  • A felt sense of freedom and aliveness through embodied expression

  • Access to creativity that arises when thinking gives way to sensing

What you will experience:

  1. Connection to self — increased body awareness, presence, and trust in your own movement

  2. Connection to others — authentic relating through shared, non-verbal experience

  3. Connection to life energy — renewed creativity, vitality, and a sense of belonging

5Rhythms opens a doorway from separation into connection, connection, connection — where movement becomes a language and community emerges naturally.

He has been playing drums and percussion for 30 years now and has developed a deep relationship with rhythm through playing in bands, leading groups and collaborating on diverse projects.

His studies have taken him to West Africa and the traditional heartlands of polyrhythmic drum culture, where he has forged connections with the ancient practice of gathering in community through rhythm.

With an array of drums and percussion, Allan’s participative sessions invite a sense of connection, listening, playfulness and celebration.

“Gavin brings a fresh talent and an inspiring presence to the world of voice and sound. The key to his genius is a simplicity of being that is too often missing in the everyday arts marketplace”.

Chloe Goodchild-Pioneer of The Naked Voice

“I have been participating in Dance Connection workshops for 3 years. The Dance Connection pathways have been portals into a deep sense of aliveness, joy, harmony and community. I feel a sense of wholeness that I rarely feel in everyday life. I work as a GP and I find that the dances facilitated by Jewell are the perfect antidote to my often overly stimulated, information processing mind. I can immediately drop attention into my body and feel in tune with its needs, inclinations and living wisdom. The harmony that occurs during some of the group dances is awe inspiring and very moving. If you want to discover a new outlet that will promote health and happiness more than you can ever imagine, I would thoroughly recommend trying Dance Connection.”
