Biodanza & The Art of Touch
The Dance of Life with Niraj and Milarepa
Friday February 13 – Sunday February 15
A weekend immersion into connection, nourishment, and the healing power of human contact
Touch is essential to human development and well-being.
From the moment we enter the world, we rely on affectionate physical contact to grow, regulate, and thrive.
Babies who are held, caressed, and lovingly attended to flourish, and adults, too, require regular doses of healthy human contact to feel whole.
Biodanza is a sanctuary where this existential nourishment becomes natural, joyful, and abundant.
Within this workshop, we explore the art and ceremony of meeting another through touch, supported by carefully curated exercises and music designed to awaken sensitivity, presence, and deep attunement.
We learn to become masters of conscious, benevolent touch, offering the organism the quality of contact it needs for optimal functioning and a sense of inner fullness.
Join us for this intimate, heart-opening weekend and experience the bliss of truly being met.
What is Biodanza
Biodanza is a system of human integration, emotional development, and renewal through music, dance, and authentic connections.
Developed by Rolando Toro in the 1960s.
Biodanza encourages a joyful, expressive way of living that enhances well-being and deepens relationships with oneself and others.
This is not about performance. It’s about remembering your aliveness, moving from the heart, and reconnecting with your essential vitality.

The Many Dimensions of Touch
Touch can be many things. It can be reassuring, celebratory, empathic, consoling, loving, erotic, tender, sensitive, life-saving, affectionate, stimulating, exciting, harmonious, inclusive, calming — and often a beautiful combination of several at once.
In Biodanza, we honour the full spectrum of these qualities. We create a space where touch is respectful, intentional, heart-led, and deeply healing.

What We Will Explore …
Throughout the weekend, we will exchange touch and conscious contact:
- with ourselves
- with a partner
- in small groups
- and as a collective field
Specific areas of the body we will honour include:
the hands, hair, face, back, feet, belly, chest, arms, and the full body as an integrated system.
You will also learn the meaning of differentiated and undifferentiated eros, and have the opportunity to experience these concepts directly through guided encounters.
The focus will be on the lines of vivencia of:
Affectivity, Sexuality, and Transcendence rather than Vitality or Creativity.
This workshop offers a full-body, holistic reset of your nervous system, leaving you feeling nurtured, connected, included, loved, and deeply refreshed.

Niraj Skilbeck, facilitator
Niraj co-leads the Dorset School of Biodanza alongside Milarepa Burgin, graduate of the first cycle of the training from 2008-2011 and is highly skilled at introducing people to the profound depths biodanza has to offer, such as sensitivity, sensuality, touch, affection and authentic expression. Using the medium of Biodanza, a series of dance, movements and exercises that create space for a deep experience within oneself and with others, each workshop is led as a vivencia, a space in which words are dropped and the deep wisdom of the body is entered.
Niraj has been involved in Biodanza since 1997, leads the teacher training program, and is also trained in the Osho Humaniversity training. He also has specialisation certificates to teach Biodanza and the Four Elements, Biodanza in Nature, Biodanza and Shamanism, AquaBiodanza, Biodanza for Children, Biodanza and Massage, Contact Education, The Heart of Transformation, the Minotaur Project and the Argonaut Mission. He has been involved in teaching Biodanza in 20+ countries.

Milarepa Burgin, facilitator
My first experience of Biodanza was with Niraj during the Spring Festival at Osho Leela in 2006. That initial vivencia had a deeply profound effect on my life, something which continues to resonate even now, and I remember saying to Niraj “if you ever decide to train people in this, you can count me in”.
After almost 20 years of dancing, with nearly 15 of those years as a facilitator, it feels that life has come full-circle as we now welcome a new cohort to Osho Leela to begin a new cycle of this incredible training. Whether you see yourself as a future teacher or simply want to enhance and enrich your own life with greater levels of expression and connection, the Biodanza facilitator training is, in my opinion, unparalleled in it’s depth and breadth and provides each participant with a unique insight into their own life and into the experience of living.
We look forward to welcoming you to the dance floor and to a deeper understanding of just what it is to be alive.
Why This Workshop Matters
Many people in the modern world live with a deficit of healthy human contact. Loneliness and isolation have become widespread, often leading to depression and other emotional imbalances. At the same time, cultural fears and confusion around touch have grown — distancing us from one of the most fundamental sources of human regulation and connection.
Biodanza offers a powerful antidote. Through guided, respectful encounters, it supports the rehabilitation of our capacity to give and receive nourishing touch. It even has the potential to reach early developmental layers, allowing new imprinting to occur when gentle regression and deep safety are present.
