Bhakti Gathering 2024

~ Being of service in times of crisis ~

This event is now SOLD OUT

the Bhakti Gatherings

Please join us for the QUEEN OF BHAKTI GATHERINGS here at the Osho Leela Centre in Dorset

Friday 3rd May 2nd to Monday 6th May 2024

Whatever our beliefs, we can all agree that our world is at a turning point. In Vedic tradition, these times were predicted as the Kali Yuga

– the age of the demon Kali –

(not to mistaken with the divine goddess Kali)

Being alive in these times is challenging.

Many of us want to know how to live with meaning and purpose in this age of violence, confusion and uncertainty.

It’s tempting to spend our energy pointing the finger at others, and no doubt, these times call for rage and accountability.

But in despairing, we can miss the opportunity to be of help.

Your courage and your presence is needed.

Please join us to pray and grow together.

You are invited to 4 days of dawn to dusk chanting, dancing, prayer and connection.

Arriving 4pm on Friday 3rd May 2024, dinner 5pm, opening ceremony 6.30pm.

Departing after lunch on Monday 6th May 2024.

Camping and indoor options available.

Limited concession tickets available.

Sri Muniraji

In this gathering, we will celebrate the example of Sri Muniraji.

He was a sage who inspired many of the people who organise the Bhakti Gathering.

He was a living example of how to stay steady during the storms of life, how to balance family and business, even political action, with deep spiritual practice.

He lived in a crowded, polluted town yet his home was a sanctuary. He guided many souls but was mainly silent.

He was a Guru but had no website or social media presence!

He transmitted love and had to face human grief too…

Sri Muniraji

These gatherings are meaningless without you!

Together, we bring out the best in ourselves and each other through simple practices and community living.

Please feel welcome to join us….

Check out the amazing line up!

Sivani Mata
Sivani Mata
Sivani Mata is an artist who is moved by a sensory and elemental exploration of life through practice that evokes the liminal experience of trance-like states of consciousness, and the centring of the awareness in heart as the seat of truth within.
She believes in this process of deep inner work as a way to cultivate a harmonic relationship with the Earth, and feels that these practices pave the way to building the relationship of self love and acceptance which is the foundation to a healing loving relationship with the land.
Sivani Mata is a student of bhakti yoga – the path of union with creation through the heart – particularly through the practice of Kirtan – collective creation of Music as Medicine using the repetition of simple powerful mantra at its core.
She has been sharing this practice regularly with groups since 2009 when she began a monthly offering of Kirtan in London, which still runs (although not monthly, now at The Study Society, Colet House), and has released four Kirtan albums: I AM (2012), Shakti Live (2015) and Surrender (2016) (produced by Tabla Tom), and the most recent Jasmine Garden (2017) produced by Turkantam.

Chloe Goodchild
Chloe Goodchild
Chloë sings, teaches, performs and records on her NakedVoiceMusic label. She is also a presenter and author for Sounds True Audiobooks; and The Shift Network.
”Silence, Self Inquiry & the Singing Field”

At the heart of the Naked Voice is an in-depth process of self-inquiry, the capacity to ‘witness’ yourself or another through non-judgemental listening. Silence is discovered here as a dynamic ‘inner music’ with the capacity to inspire, inform and transform reactive or negative emotion into deeper positive feeling.

“Chloë Goodchild’s subtle voicework opens the heart. She is a spectacular genius of this teaching art. She is at the core of a fascinating phenomenon that is allowing individuals to find their truth and freedom through the creative process of voice and sound” – Coleman Barks, Rumi: Soul Fury

Theo Wildcroft
Theo Wildcroft
Theo will be Talking about her New book that is just being released.

“The Yoga Teacher’s Survival Guide” is a yoga book with a difference.
In this guide, the authors embark on a ground-breaking exploration of the multifaceted challenges faced by yoga teachers in today’s complex world.
Drawing upon their experience in training yoga teachers, Theo Wildcroft and Harriet McAtee have compiled a collection of wisdom from some of the best-known and respected yoga teachers worldwide, including Peter Blackaby, Donna Farhi, Jivana Heyman, and Jules Mitchell.

Through this collaboration, these experts address six key themes that resonate deeply within the yoga teaching community: critical thinking, honouring our sources, scientific enquiries, trauma, race and equity, and money and power.
This book will teach yoga teachers what they need to know about honouring yoga’s sources and surviving and thriving in the modern yoga industry.

Theo is an old friend of the Beltane Bhakti Gathering, and some of you were even part of her original PhD research. She’s coming to talk with those of us who care about the tradition and the future of yoga in all its forms, so that we can discuss how we balance authenticity and authority, science and faith, in respectful, justice-focused conversations.

Vaishnavi is a singer of the sacred, a playful voice-worker and a highly-attuned nervous system whisperer. Her voice has been described as “a flute that the Divine uses to carry heart-penetrating beauty.”
She is one half of sacred mantra duo EARTH, whose debut album Maha Mata surprised everyone by making BBC Radio airplay and racking up over a million Spotify streams.
Her tentative steps into releasing her own original songs have been well received: the self-made short film to her first solo release If Trees Could Talk, What Would They Say? was an award-wnner at the Climates International Film Festival and her upcoming single Dear Human Race was selected to feature on We Are Wild Sessions.
Relentlessly awestruck by the magical nature of the metamorphosis that occurs within the safe spaces she holds, she is profoundly touched to witness others deepening back into their most authentic selves and reclaiming their own inner Eden. Although she increasingly lives a fairytale woodland existence—catching songs and talking to trees whilst birds alight on her fingertips—her ongoing practice is rooted in the notion that “Paradise is an inside job”.

Sion Jones, is a mindfulness coach, Kirtan leader and yoga teacher from Wales . His passion lies in sharing Kirtan and sacred songs, and through these practices opening people’s hearts to their own potential and healing powers. Offering kirtan regularly in Stroud we look forward to welcoming Sion for the first time to this years Beltane Bhakti Gathering.

The Bhakti Gathering offers a flavour of ancient vedic way of life. It’s an antidote to the individualistic culture which has been thrust upon us. Questions like “do I belong?” or “am I good enough?”, a preoccupation in many western healing modalities, melt away through these humbling practices which generate the feelings of “how can I contribute” and “we are all in this together”.

The event is run by volunteers, and we’ve intentionally kept the ticket prices as low as possible, to cover fixed costs. This is the ethos of the event – in most cultures, you can’t put a price tag on such gatherings of the heart.

Of course we have to cover our fixed costs. We are all contributing to make it possible!
